- You must retain confirmation of both your licence renewal and insurance update for you records
The College plans to discontinue the Non-Practising licence class as part of the bylaws effected on April 1, 2026, under the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA).
- Under the proposed HPOA bylaws:
- As of April 1, 2026, Full/Practising licensees will no longer be able to transfer to the Non-Practising class.
- The College is committed to supporting current Non-Practising licensees through this transition and ensuring clarity about available options:
- Existing Non-Practising licences may be renewed until March 31, 2027.
- Licensees wishing to extend their Non-Practising licence must renew during their next scheduled renewal period in 2026.
- Existing Non-Practising licences may apply to reinstate their full Licence
- Non-Practising licensees may also allow their licence to lapse:
- By not renewing at the end of the current term; or
- By requesting cancellation in writing if they wish to end their licence before the expiry date.
Important information regarding Health Professions Corporation (HPC) Permits
Health Profession Corporation (HPC) permits issued under the former Health Professions Act that were valid on the in-force date of the current Health Professions and Occupations Act are valid until March 31, 2027.
This means that a corporation that currently holds a valid HPC permit with CCHPBC is not required to renew or pay the HPC permit renewal fee this renewal period, as their permit will remain valid until March 31, 2027.
