Updated Process for Certificates of Standing

The College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC) has implemented an updated process for licensees requesting Certificates of Standing for submission to out-of-province regulatory bodies. This change is effective immediately and is intended to enhance consistency, transparency, and regulatory alignment across jurisdictions.

Under the new process, licensees must complete a required form titled Certificate of Standing – Consent for Release of Information. This form provides formal, written consent authorizing CCHPBC to release relevant information directly to another regulatory authority in a standardized and consistent manner.

In the near future, licensees will have the option to apply for a Certificate of Standing directly through the new licensee portal system, offering a more streamlined and convenient submission method.

This updated approach has been introduced to improve the accuracy and consistency of information shared with other regulators, ensure appropriate and informed consent for full disclosure, and align CCHPBC’s practices with regulatory expectations across Canada.

Completed forms may be submitted by email (as a scanned copy) to registration@cchpbc.ca or by mail to the College. Certificates are issued directly to the receiving out-of-province regulator and are not provided to Licensees.

With signed consent, CCHPBC may disclose information related to professional conduct, competence, and capacity. This may include both disciplinary and non-disciplinary matters, in accordance with applicable legislation.

CCHPBC appreciates licensees’ cooperation as this updated process is implemented to support consistent regulatory decision-making and uphold public protection.
