As we look ahead to the implementation of the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA) on April 1, 2026, we are committed to supporting licensees (registrants) through this transition. The HPOA will not change the day-to-day practice for health professionals once the Act is in force. Licensees will continue to deliver care in the same way while becoming familiar with updated standards.

Over the coming months, CCHPBC will host a series of webinars for licensees. Each webinar in the series will focus on a different aspect of the HPOA and related bylaws and standards, and what it means for licensees.

By attending a webinar, you can expect: 

• information about the transition to the HPOA 

• insight from CCHPBC staff who are working directly on the implementation of the HPOA and related bylaws and standards 

• responses to questions related to webinar topics

Recordings of webinars will be made available after live sessions, so you can revisit topics or review the information.
