History of the regulation of naturopathic physicians in B.C.
Naturopathic medicine has been a regulated profession under B.C. legislation since 1936. The profession was regulated under the former Naturopaths Act until January 1, 2000, when it was designated a health profession under the Health Professions Act. The profession was regulated by the College of Naturopathic Physicians of BC from 2000 to June 27, 2024.
On June 28, 2024, the College of Naturopathic Physicians of BC amalgamated with the College of Chiropractors of BC, the College of Massage Therapists of BC, and the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of BC to form the College of Complementary Health Professionals of British Columbia.
