Apr 29, 2025

As a registrant of the College, you have direct access to dedicated practice advisors who are here to support you in navigating the standards, bylaws, and ethical expectations of your profession.

Our Practice Advisory Service is designed to help you meet your regulatory requirements with confidence by helping you interpret the standards and bylaws, clarify the Code of Ethics and Conduct, and guide you in applying these principles to your day-to-day practice. Our team includes practitioners from each of the health professions we regulate, bringing a deep understanding of the unique contexts and challenges you face.

The demand for practice support continues to grow. Between September and November 2024, our practice advisors responded to 1,883 questions, and between January and March 2025, they addressed 1,484 questions from registrants.

No question is too small. In fact, your inquiries help us, too! By tracking the types of questions we receive, we’re able to identify practice trends, spot emerging issues, and capitalize on opportunities to develop helpful resources that benefit all registrants.

Some of the questions we can assist with include, but are not limited to:

  • Storage, maintenance, and disposal of clinical records
  • Understanding and working within your scope of practice
  • Marketing and advertising that complies with standards
  • Obtaining and documenting informed consent
  • Creating and maintaining a safe and appropriate practice environment

Whether you’re double-checking documentation requirements, clarifying how to communicate effectively with patients, or ensuring your marketing aligns with regulations, our practice advisors are here to support you every step of the way.
