Jun 18, 2025

As part of your ongoing professional development, all ND registrants must fulfill Continuing Education (CE) requirements to maintain their certifications and ensure excellence in practice. Here’s everything you need to know about Category E – Certifications for the current CE period.

Current CE Period:

January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2025

All ND registrants must complete a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education within this two-year period.

Category E Requirements – Certification Specific

If you hold any certifications (excluding Prescriptive Authority), you must complete a minimum of 2 hours of Category E CE per certification

  • Category E CE must be directly related to the certified area of practice, ensuring you remain up-to-date and competent in that area of practice.

What Qualifies for Category E CE Hours?

To fulfill your Category E CE requirements, you may select one of the following methods.

Please note: you cannot combine methods to satisfy a single certification requirement.

  1. Courses or Conferences

Attend professional development events. These courses or conferences must be directly relevant to the specified aspect of practice

Proof of completion: Upload a certificate of course completion to ROSS.

  1. Supervised Practice or Practice Observation (Preceptorship)

Earn CE hours by participating in or providing supervised practice or observation in your field. This includes:

  • Acting as a supervising ND/preceptor
  • Participating as a supervisee/preceptee

Proof of completion: Upload a preceptorship summary to ROSS including:

  • Dates and duration
  • General nature of the preceptorship
  • Names of both the preceptor and preceptee.

Important: Please consult the Continuing Education (CE) Policy: Supervised Practice/Preceptorship for full details on CE hours allocation and documentation.

  1. Currency in Practice

Demonstrating current, active practice in your certified area also counts. For every 50 treatments performed in a certification area, you may claim 2 hours of Category E CE.

Proof of Completion: Upload your treatment tracking log to ROSS. You’ll find templates under the “Forms & Resources” tab > “Continuing Education” folder on ROSS.

Tip: Plan Ahead!

Start tracking your CE activities early and keep thorough records to ensure a smooth reporting process!
