A reminder to all Naturopathic Doctors (ND) registrants that the current continuing education (CE) cycle ends on December 31, 2025.  

 

As part of the Quality Assurance Program, ND registrants are required to complete a minimum of 40 CE hours over each two-year CE period. There are five possible CE categories, briefly described below:  

 Description:

  • Educational conference, courses and seminars. Examples: Educational conferences/seminars/ webinars offered by: 
    • provincial or state association in a regulated jurisdiction 
    • other medical and professional associations  
    • nutraceutical or pharmaceutical companies  
  • Computer based or distance learning programs  
  • Life Support Training (BLS/NALS)

 

Requirements:

No minimum/No maximum. 

Description:

  • Teaching: offering courses to professionals or the public 
  • Service: serving on committees or Boards for the college or association 
  • Professional development: courses related to business or leaderships skills 
  • Preceptoring or Mentoring

 

Requirements:  

Maximum 10 hours.

Description:

(Certification holders only; except Prescriptive Authority) 

  • Courses or conferences relevant to the specified aspect of practice or supervised practice/practice observation 

 

Requirements: 

Minimum 2 hours per certification.

 Description:

(Prescriptive Authority Certification holders only) 

  • Course or conferences relevant to prescriptive authority. Courses require approval by the college.

 

Requirements:

Minimum 10 hours from courses approved by the College. 

Description:

Courses or conference that encourage professional development in cultural safety, cultural humility, ethics, and jurisprudence. Courses require approval by the college.

 

Requirements:

Minimum 3 hours from courses approved by the College.

All ND registrants are encouraged to complete and upload their CE credits in advance of December 31, 2025.
